A Steering Committee involving key regional partners was established to oversee the development of this Regional Catchment Strategy. The committee was chaired by Sharyon Peart (Mallee CMA Board Chair until 2021) and Allison McTaggart (Chair of the Mallee CMA Board from 2021), with representation from: Mildura Rural City Council, Swan Hill Rural City Council, Yarriambiack Shire Council, Buloke Shire Council, Lower Murray Water, Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water, Parks Victoria, Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, and Mallee Catchment Management Authority Board.

Development of this Regional Catchment Strategy was also directly informed through the participation of government and non-government organisations, Traditional Owners, and the broader community in workshops, on-Country events, and online consultation processes.

The Mallee Regional Catchment Strategy 2022–28 was supported by the Mallee CMA, through funding from the Victorian Government.
